I began Chinese traditional ink painting when I was 18; gradually experimenting and developing a distinctive style which I transfer to other media: oil, acrylics and watercolour. My recent works are all of mixed water-based media on paper. I aim to capture a “Rhythm of Life” which I believe pervades the entire universe. It both precedes and generates all of mass, energy and Life. I love to paint forms that are seemingly spontaneous and protean, rich and luminous, freely floating and unfettered by gravity, all unified and rendered coherent through this powerful Life Rhythm. My love of art, science and music is lifelong.I also play the Classical guitar and have obtained an Engineering degree from U. of California.
Many of my works first appeared on the covers of the quarterly magazine, Science in Society, published by the Institute of Science in Society. This is a not for profit organization that promotes social responsibility and sustainable approaches in science and technology.
